The School Bus Tracker keeps each school's records apart, shows each family only their own children, lets only a run's own driver start it, shares location only during a run, and records who changed what.

Each school kept apart

Every request a school makes is limited to that school's own records. Searches, duplicate checks and reports only ever look at its own data.

Families see only their own children

A family sees their own children and the runs those children are on, and nothing else. Only their own child's stop is named; other families' stops are not shown.

Only the right driver runs the bus

Only the driver assigned to a run can start or end it, and the bus's location is shared only while a run is under way.

Children's records belong to the school

Adding or removing a child, or changing their details, is done by the school. A family can ask for their account to be closed, and the school is told.

Sign-in and passwords

Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication. Passwords a school generates are shown to it once to hand over, and administrator and school accounts are never part of a bulk password change.

A record of who changed what

An activity log records changes, including those an administrator makes while acting on a school's behalf.
