In short
The School Bus Tracker tells families when their child boards the school bus, when they are dropped off, and when the bus is close to their stop. Alerts arrive as app notifications, as browser notifications on the website, or by email for a family whose phone has never had the app.

Reaching every family
Alerts go to the parent app on Android and iPhone. Families who use the website instead can turn on notifications in their browser, and they arrive even when the site is closed. A family the system cannot reach on any device is sent the same message by email, so nobody is left out because they do not have a smartphone.
On from the start
A new child's family is set up to receive alerts as soon as the child is added, so a school does not have to ask every family to switch something on before the product does anything for them.
Questions about pickup and drop-off alerts
Do parents need to install an app to get alerts?
No. The app is the most immediate way, but families can also get notifications in their web browser or, as a fallback, by email.
Can more than one guardian get the alerts?
Yes. A child can have more than one parent or guardian, and a parent can see and remove the other adults who look after their children.
