School bus route planning
Draw routes on the map or build them from a spreadsheet, choose the way the bus goes, and let each day's runs follow.
In short
The School Bus Tracker lets a school plan bus routes, keep a list of stops, and set the timetables the buses run to. Routes can be drawn on a map or built from a spreadsheet, the school chooses which way round the bus goes, and each day's runs, stops and times follow the route automatically.
Routes and stops
A school keeps its own list of stops and builds routes from them on a map. Where the map offers more than one way between two stops, the school chooses the one the bus actually takes, and that choice is what the distance, the timetable and the family's screen all use.
Timetables that follow the route
Morning and afternoon runs are set up as timetables that repeat. A run's stops and times follow the route it drives, so moving a stop or adding one reaches today's run too, rather than waiting for tomorrow.
Holidays and closures
A whole term's closed days can be added at once, so buses are not booked and families are not told to expect a bus on a day the school is shut.
Questions about school bus route planning
Can we import our existing routes?
Yes. Routes can be built from a spreadsheet of students and stops as part of setting up a school, as well as drawn one at a time on the map.
