How to track your child's school bus

Step by step

1. Check that your school uses a tracking system

   Bus tracking is set up by the school or its transport operator, not by parents. Ask the school office whether buses are tracked and which app they use.

2. Get your sign-in details from the school

   With The School Bus Tracker, the school adds your child and you as their parent, and gives you a sign-in. You do not need to create an account yourself.

3. Sign in on the app or the website

   Use the parent app on Android or iPhone, or sign in on the website and add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

4. Turn on notifications

   Allow notifications so you are told when the bus is close, when your child boards and when they are dropped off. On the website, notifications work in the browser too.

5. Follow the bus on school mornings

   Once the driver starts the run, you will see the bus move, how many stops away it is, and whether it is running late.

What if my school does not track its buses?

Many schools do not yet. The most useful thing a parent can do is tell the school it matters to them, ideally with other parents. If you would like us to contact your school about The School Bus Tracker, send us its name through the form on our home page.
