How does a school bus tracking app work?
The driver starts the run in a driver app, which shares the bus's location from their phone while the run is under way.
In short
The driver starts the run in a driver app, which shares the bus's location from their phone while the run is under way. The system works out where the bus is on its route and which stops it has reached, and tells each family about their own child: when the bus is close, when the child boards, and when they arrive.
Schools set up the routes, stops and children beforehand, usually from a spreadsheet, and the runs for each day follow the timetables they set.
